Kids Dot to dot numbers

April 19th, 2012

Dot to dot numbersOne of the latest additions to the site is nine new numbered dot to dot printables which I created for a guy called John Davies for his grand kids. He sent me an email and I didn’t have anything like that but thought it would be cool to make them, two days later, quite a bit of work and they are live. The nine new PDF’s feature the numbers one to nine and vary in difficulty depending on the chosen number.

Also been helping out with the new arrivals at my Mum’s Goat Farm the past few weeks, everything went well this year, loads of baby goats have been born. and all are doing well here is my favourite how cute is that.

As always got loads of new stuff in the pipeline I’m also well in to writing my book that I will feature on my site including an e-book version, it’s going slow as I don’t think I’m a writer and I’m not confident but its coming together… and the story Frey and I made up is pretty cool, add some of my funky illustration work and who knows…

I’ll try to get more updates on here soon

Walking Colouring pages

March 6th, 2012

Just released some of the new Walking Colouring Pages that I am currently working on, these are inspired by my growing love of walking in the countryside. The new page features four new simple kids printables and these are also re created as on-line colouring pages that can be coloured in using the new interactive colouring app.
The new ones show two walkers and a mouse and dog who are also dressed up and walking in the countryside. I have also added these new ones to the Mouse Colouring and Dog Colouring sections of the site.

Also got really cool email/s this past week from a student called Helen from Trinity College Dublin who is working on applications helping Kids develop mathematics using interactive games to get kids better at doing sums. I jumped in and am helping out with the artwork on those. I hope (to be confirmed) that I can feature some of Helen’s work.

Its also inspired me to do some of the stuff I thought up a few years back, will take a bit time to create the cool graphics but its a really good idea and it will work for both girls and boys.

As always hope you guys like the new stuff, leave feedback below if you want

Camping Colouring Pages

February 17th, 2012

Camping colouring pagesThese new additions to the site are inspired by a nice chap called Will Burfitt who contacted me a few weeks back asking if I had any Camping Coloring Pages that he could use for the Kids who stay at their camp-site and some promotional stuff. I was mid way re jigging the site and straight away I thought NO I don’t have time…

I loved the idea and straight away had some of my slightly crazy ideas for some funny pictures, so I emailed back YES, but you will have to wait a bit (late nights ahead).

I’ve released a few of the new ones tonight including four new on-line versions that you can colour in using your computer. I’ve also got quite a few more good sketches that will make good final artwork these will be added soon along with some new dot to dot pages which I have started already and aim to get live over the weekend.

I also got a cool email and link from some guys in Shrewsbury, they like my drawings as well and are featuring me in a publication /s :)

I wont rant on about this but I’m also stopping lots of other sites who have been stealing my drawings and using them to set up colouring sites covered in loads of adverts, that’s really annoyed me over the years and its wasted my time in taking action against them, if you spot my stuff out there feel free to let me know (that was the polite version)

Still great to get comments, feedback and support from you guys, I wish I wasn’t so busy sometimes, so many things I want to draw…

Hope you like the look of the new Kids camping drawings?

Usability Update to the site

February 6th, 2012

Where do I start…

Spent most of Thursday night working on the new ‘app’ which will let Kids and adults simply customise their unique colouring pages, got it finished and working, showed my team at work and checked it on a few different machines there, all good.

Got back from work on Friday all fired up and started looking at it again, then started taking a close look at the live site and noticed that its usability is pretty poor, I said you need to fix that or don’t bother adding anything else (and yes I do talk to myself) :)

So it started, page by page (site has over nine hundred pages) going through each one and fixing the ‘printing’ of the pages. Try not to bore you but when you are on a main page e.g.  Teddy Bear Colouring you look at the small thumbnail images and go I like that one and click it, that opens a page containing the big printable picture, if you tried to print that page on Thursday it printed some words and other bits of the page, when ideally it should just let you guys print the main image only.

So that’s what I have been doing the past three days and still not finished, got just over two hundred pages done so far. Tested these in lots of browsers and they even work in early versions of Internet Explorer :)

I need to get the rest done before the new customise app gets released and that will take days to roll out, I’m sure you guys will love the new stuff that’s on its way and I hope the new set up on the pages I have altered makes it far easier and quicker to print the pages off for your Kids.

I’ll possibly have to do a ‘Printing Tips’ as well in the help section of the site. I will say one thing though when its done its going to be such a good site, I think its good now, but it should blow the socks off the rest of the colouring sites out there.

If there’s anything else really bad that I need to know please leave a comment below – Dave

New Online Colouring Pages

January 20th, 2012

Still busy adding and creating new stuff for my site, the latest is an idea my mate Matt and I discussed at work which is to just fire them out there. I’ve taken that approach on the New Online Colouring section which now features on all the pages on my site (top right banner).
There are over fifty of the latest online colouring pages on there and I intend to add more to it soon, its not (as a web designer) the ideal way to do it, but as a user of the site  its just great, click the picture you want and colour it in, simple…

I’m also adding the new online versions to the relevant key sections and example being the bird colouring pages, so we now have the printables and the online versions.

If all goes to plan I’ll be adding the rest of the birds and more new ones  in the next few days. As always hope you guys like the new additions.

Cat Colouring Pages

January 5th, 2012

Just released four new cat colouring pages. These new ones were drawn while staying at the Farm and are based on the observations of my Cat Maxy who now lives up there.  Still got a bit more work to do on this section, really need to get the existing printables added as online versions.  We have another two cat printables which are designed for children of all ages, below are links to all the new pages featured.

I have re worked these two new ones to make them online colouring pages as well,l these can be coloured in using a variety of techniques and can be saved in various sizes along with being printed and added to your facebook image gallery

Don’t forget to check out the Cat Colouring main section for more easy and complicated feline themed colouring pages. I also got some others started last night, will be featuring these soon.

As always looking forward to feedback on the latest additions to my site, feel free to comment below.

Latest Colouring Update

December 5th, 2011

Been busy looking after my Mum the past weeks/months up at the Farm, lived up there for nine weeks keeping the farm running while she was recovering from her hip operation. I can honestly say I have never done such long days in my life for such a long time…

Great news is that She’s much better and I’m back home (woop woop)  :)

Bad news for the site is I’ve drawn loads of new original colouring sketches made but no scans or inked up drawings so far and very little new content has been added within that time…

Also while being up there I have had time to get back into photography and on the strength of that have rejuvenated my old Flickr account and started to add new photos of some of the stuff I see and like.

Hopefully will get some new pictures featured soon, really like some of the new sketches and looking forward to sharing them with you guys.

Eight New Kids Word Search Games

October 14th, 2011

Kids Word SearchJust released another eight new kids word search games. The new ones consist of four easy games featuring:  Jobs, Valentines, Halloween and Dental themes.

There are also four easier versions of these available for younger children to complete. Got loads more of these in the pipline that should be featured on my site soon.

Sheep On-line Colouring

October 10th, 2011

Sheep On-line ColouringJust added another five cool Sheep Online Coloring pages to the site, love these new ones all quite simple but great to colour in using the new coloring app.

Still need to add the canoeing sheep but I’m going to do that one later as the five I have display neatly.

Still pushing to get the new ones out there, got loads still to do, but loving the quality of the images that can be created using the different brush sizes and coloring tools.

Loads more new stuff coming soon…

New People Colouring Pages

October 8th, 2011

Online Colouring

Still busy adding the new online colouring pages to the site.

The latest new additions to my site are from the people colouring section. Spent quite a while sorting out these new ones re-sizing them to the larger format and making sure they work OK with the new online app. Really like these new ones think they work really well.

As always interested to see what you guys think of them, comments most welcome.
